Management Team


Stan Fleming
President and Chief Operating Officer

Stan brings a proven track record of innovation and business development strategies that elevate cyber capabilities across diverse markets. His expertise and leadership will leverage CloudShield Technologies as a key differentiator for our organization as we grow our business, deliver unique value to our customers and achieve market leadership in the cyber domain.

Prior to joining CloudShield, Stan served as senior vice president and chief strategy officer for NANA Development Corporation, overseeing business development, corporate strategy, investment analysis, communications and marketing. He worked in multiple roles for more than eight years, rapidly expanding services and market share, leading to significant growth in revenue. Stan has strong roots with CloudShield as the former vice president of Federal Operations, creating the initial federal pipeline and selling the first beta units to those federal customers. He also co-founded and served as head of strategy and business development for his own company, which provided consulting services and internet solutions internationally for major cable and telecom companies.

Stan has a military career that spans 21 years of service as U.S. Air Force active duty and reserve, where among other senior positions he served as chief of Washington Operations for the White House Communications Agency, and supported launch communications for the National Reconnaissance Office. Stan received a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the United States Air Force Academy, and a master's degree in systems management from the University of Southern California.

Peder Jungck
Vice President, Chief Technology Officer
CloudShield Technologies, Inc. - an SAIC Company

Peder is a networking industry visionary, IT executive and entrepreneur who has pioneered high-speed content-based networking and cyber security systems to meet the needs of government, carriers, and large enterprises. During a career that spans more than 20 years, Peder has worked closely with Global 2000 customers, helping them simplify and streamline the deployment and management of their large-scale, complex networks and data centers.

Peder attended Clarkson University for electrical and computer engineering and received a bachelor of arts degree from Beloit College in mathematics and computer science. He holds more than a dozen patents for network infrastructure and security products as well has been the CIO or CTO at a number of technology companies such as Silicon Valley Internet Capital, yesmail.com, Remington Associates and TerraGlyph Interactive as well as a lead architect at companies such as Sterling Commerce and AT&T GIS/NCR during the early part of his career in networking and data centers. In addition he has been an advisor to numerous other technology companies.

Peder is the founder and guiding architect behind CloudShield's cyber security products, while maintaining focus and contact with customers to solve their needs. He is also an author of packetC®, CloudShield's unique and powerful packet processing development language.

Todd Beine
VP of Technology

Todd Beine brings more than 18 years of experience in technical product development to CloudShield, having held management roles in both Product Management and Engineering. He came to CloudShield from Ciena Communications—a high-speed network solutions company —where he managed the metro optical transport, network management, and network planning and design product lines. Prior to Ciena, Todd led product management for ONI Systems, an optical networking startup that was acquired by Ciena in 2002. Todd began his career at Nortel Networks, where he spent 12 years in a variety of development engineering and engineering management positions across Nortel's telecom product lines.

Todd holds a BS degree in Electrical Engineering and an MS degree in Computer Engineering from North Carolina State University.

Randy Brumfield
SVP, Products & Strategic Alliances

Randy has more than 15 years of experience in the networking industry at successful companies both large and small. Randy came to CloudShield from TPG Ventures where, as a Venture Partner, he focused on finding and funding companies poised to take advantage of creating disruptive solutions while leveraging significant performance increases and better cost structures offered by commercial silicon.

Prior to TPG Ventures, Randy was VP of Marketing for softswitch pioneer TransMedia which was subsequently sold to Cisco Systems. Randy was then Cisco's Director of Carrier Voice Products. Prior to that, he was at ATM Access products provider OnStream Networks OnStream Networks was acquired by 3Com Corporation. Randy held the role of Director, Product Marketing & Planning for the Broadband Access Division while at 3Com.

Additionally, Randy served in a variety of marketing and technical roles at ADC Kentrox, Larscom, ITT and the US Air Force.

Dennis Defensor,
Senior Vice President,
Global Sales & Field Marketing

Before joining Cloudshield Dennis was Group President at Qivliq, where he built a business organization from start-up to $350+ Million in annual sales. Prior to Qivliq he served as Vice President of the Oracle Division at DLT Solutions, Vice President of eCommerce and Market Communications at GTSI, Senior Vice President of VIACOM New Media, President & CEO of ICOM Simulations (He negotiated its sale to VIACOM.), and Vice President of Systems Integration at Falcon Microsystems. He also has founded three start-up technology companies. His business experience covers entrepreneurial start-ups, turnaround management and growth management.

In college he received a research grant for programming algorithms for genetics simulations after which he began an information technology career as a field sales engineer for NEC (Nippon Electric Company). His government contracts career began at Falcon Microsystems where he led the bids and proposals team while studying law at night. He then started his legal training as a law clerk for the government contracts practice of Morgan, Lewis and Bockius (Washington, DC) and practiced briefly with Wyatt, Tarrant and Combs (Louisville, KY).

Dennis has accrued 30 years of experience in information technology, executive management, business development, marketing, sales, product development, contracts, law, project management and operations in both the government and commercial markets. He has extensive experience in government sales and procurement in the federal, state and local government markets. He brings to Cloudshield a strategic and aggressive approach in business development.

Dennis has a B.S. Degree from Beloit College and a J.D. from the Columbus School of Law, Catholic University of America.

Perry Chin, CMA
Controller

Perry's extensive worldwide business and financial operational experience frequently attracts the most challenging assignments involving new business ventures, strategic alliances, valuation analyses, acquisition integration and growth initiatives. During his tenure he has driven revenue and profitability forecasting processes, spearheaded financial contract negotiations with network computer OEMs and Services providers, and served as finance director for global sales and services, research and development, marketing, technology licensing and acquisitions. He has established business operations throughout Asia and Latin America.

Prior to joining CloudShield, Perry held financial management positions at Oracle Corporation, Sun Microsystems and the Hewlett Packard Company. He earned his MBA Finance and MS Civil Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley. He is a Certified Management Accountant.

Al Sadler
Vice President of Operations

Al Sadler is a career operations executive with over 30 years experience with both emerging and Fortune 500 technology leaders. He has successfully built manufacturing operations from the ground up as well as taking established organizations to successively higher levels. Al's most recent positions include Vice President of Operations at OpVista Inc., COO at Trapeze Networks and Alidian Networks and Vice President of Operations at Assured Access Technologies (Alcatel). Previously, Al held executive positions at Memorex, Mountain Computer, Verbatim (Kodak), Alantec Networks and Polaroid.

Tom Freeman
AVP of Applications

With three decades of engineering leadership spanning software and system engineering along with functional and program management Tom has extensive experience developing for both the commercial and government arenas. Tom is currently spearheading Applications Development for CloudShield Technologies, Inc. developing a range of solutions that leverage CloudShield's advanced networking platform.

Tom came to CloudShield from Lockheed Martin where he was chief engineer and principal architect for a large scale multimodal biometrics enterprise solution. His career spans programs and projects focused on systems architecture, systems engineering and development of distributed systems, n-tiered architectures, enterprise messaging backbones, mobile agent software, world class applications , and application of biometrics technology to large scale enterprises. His efforts resulted in 7 US patents granted which focused on distributed computing, enterprise management, and human machine interaction. Tom has held a range of roles working for industry leaders like CloudShield Technologies (an SAIC company), Lockheed Martin, Citrix Systems, Corel, Novell, WordPerfect, ESL (a TRW company), and Sperry (now Unisys).

Tom holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Utah.

Peter Staab
AVP of Platform

Peter brings a wealth of experience across small and large development engineering organizations ranging from small "startup" teams to 80+ engineers located in different countries. As a seasoned and senior engineering manager , Peter's twenty years of experience in engineering disciplines range from executive management to hands on design of hardware circuits, networking topologies and protocols, complex software designs and product development responsibility from conception to field support. Peter has successfully managed engineering organizations to improve productivity and development cycles. Peter's subject matter expertise includes packet voice and VOIP telephony architectures, utilization of large scale FPGAs, network processors (IXP 2800) and coprocessors for full packet processing at multiple 10Gig speeds, IP networking topologies and protocols and development of strategic product definition and implementation.

Prior to joining CloudShield , Peter held key development and management positions at Netgear, Mobile Music, Copper Mountain Networks, ACT Networks , and General DataComm.

Peter is a graduate of the University of Maryland with a Bachelor of Science in Physics.
