Senior Systems Engineer — Federal Sales [#1023] (Ft Meade, MD)



Job Responsibilities:

The candidate will be responsible for architecting and designing custom, cutting-edge network information assurance and information operations solutions. He/she will work onsite at Ft Meade, MD and will work closely with government and contractor engineers to provide full lifecycle systems engineering support, including requirements gathering, analysis, and documentation as well as system (high- and low-level) design. He/she will work closely with software engineers during the implementation and test phase and will work with customer engineers during delivery and sustainment.

He/she will work in a fast-paced team environment and must be flexible and agile in order to meet rapidly changing customer needs. Solutions will be focused around the CloudShield platform, a programmable, high-performance network appliance. Thus, the candidate must be highly experienced in network architectures and solutions, but also must be willing to quickly learn and become proficient with a new appliance and processing paradigm.

Required Qualifications:

The ideal candidate has a blend of software engineering and systems engineering background, with experience in all phases of the development lifecycle, and experience in Information Assurance or Information Security.

  • Current Top Secret SCI clearance, with active SSBI and Full-Scope polygraph.
  • Systems engineering discipline, including requirements elicitation and definition, high- and low-level design.
  • Deep understanding of common networking protocols such as Ethernet, IPv4, IPv6, TCP, UDP, ICMP, etc.
  • Experience designing or developing Information Assurance (IA) or Information Security applications, such as firewalls, intrusion detection or prevention systems, Cross-Domain Solutions, etc.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Information Security certification, such as CISSP, GIAC, etc.
  • Experience designing or implementing programs requiring government Certification and Accreditation processes.
  • Experience working with structured systems engineering processes such as CMMI.
Required Education:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Math, Electrical Engineering or related field.
Required Work Experience:
  • At least 7 years relevant work experience.
