Federal Systems Engineer (8117)
The Systems Engineer will provide pre- and post-sales technical support, professional services engineering and consulting services for CloudShield Technologies' deep packet inspection network products and solutions. This individual will bring a strong knowledge of networking technology and understanding of the technical and operational challenges faced by the Federal Government within network and Information Assurance domains. The Systems Engineer will have the primary responsibility to work with the CloudShield sales organization to shorten the sales cycle by overcoming technical hurdles within partner and target accounts and drive sales with technical expertise, and a superior customer focus. Additional functions will include participation in pre-sales solutions design & development, customer product evaluations, articulating value propositions and product differentiation, professional services engineering, creating applications, and solution optimization, which will configure and apply CloudShield products to meet specific customer needs.
These initiatives are centered on delivering network analysis, security, and defense solutions on the CS-2000 platform. The CS-2000 high-speed, programmable platform provides a unique environment for building new, innovative solutions to today's network convergence and security problems. A qualified candidate must be able to present the CloudShield platform architecture, as well as identify key business values. Senior Sales Engineers must have solid communication skills, sales ability, technical expertise, and work well in a team, or independently.
A degree in a technical discipline is required. Must have a minimum of five years of relevant systems engineering or development experience as a working provider of networking or telecommunications solutions and interacting directly with customers. Proficiency with telecommunication technologies and presentation packages (PowerPoint, adobe acrobat, etc.) required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Pre-Sales Engineering to include:
- Working with partner and target customers to identify specific needs and success criteria;
- Leveraging relationships within organizations to solve technical hurdles and foster awareness of our products and solutions;
- Driving technical readiness of the organization;
- Working with the appropriate teams to resolve issues internally as well as externally with business partners.
- Systems Engineering to include:
- Provide direct technical support to customers and other CloudShield staff, supporting customer presentations, site surveys, field test and deployments, and assistance throughout the lifecycle with multiple project engagements;
- Trouble-shoot and resolve technical issues.
- Provide real-time status view across critical projects, and assist with project coordination at technical and executive levels.
- Provide regular feedback and recommendations to the Federal team in order to improve the relationships and enhance product offerings.
- Act as a mentor to other SE's to share knowledge and best practices to advance sales of our products and technologies.

Position Qualifications:
- BS Degree in engineering or computer science. Master's preferred.
- 5 years experience desired. Senior level positions available for candidates with greater experience.
- Must have an expert knowledge and understanding of networking technologies as well as security solution design and deployments.
- Deep understanding of connectivity and transport protocols and associated technologies.
- Understands the operational core of US Government networks and the associated services delivered – both what these services are and how they are architected and deployed.
- Demonstrates an advanced understanding of Windows, Linux, UNIX, network device configuration.
- Ability to think strategically about customer needs, business impact, product design and marketing. Must understand and research positioning of CloudShield and competitive product architecture, migration and coexistence in heterogeneous environments.
- Possess a strong customer satisfaction record. Demonstrate excellent listening skills resulting in a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Superb Problem Solving - Strategic thinker and self-starter who can prioritize multiple duties to meet deadlines and fulfill responsibilities.
- Strong Communication Skills - must have the ability to creatively convey information through both the written and spoken word. Must possess solid presentation and facilitation skills. Must be able to recognize the comfort level of the audience and present extremely technical information in a fashion that can be understood by the audience.
- Self-motivated, requiring minimal day-to-day supervision. Strong time management skills. Ability to prioritize and manage a very large number of diverse tasks.
- Start-up experience is a plus
- TS/SCI clearances with full lifestyle polygraph (or lifestyle polygraph eligible) required.
Locations: Ft Meade/Washington DC metro area preferred.
